Stumbleupon.com

Rambling of an aging Hippie
I approach this writing session with certain doubts. What can I write that will receive any responses. Maybe I should worry and continue to add my thoughts and hope that an audience is developled. Oh, well here I go again . My immediate concern is this activity is just another waste of time. I have stumbleupon some interesting blogs and hope to use some of the techniques for writing in one's blog. Must close and go back to work. Bye for now.

Searching for connection for new blog

Friday Night Inspiration

Section 1

Writing Prompts
I keep searching for that perfect muse to inspire my writing, but I am afraid that is an impossible dream. One must take the daily events and translate them into workable prose.
On that dark and stormy night, I sat in front of the computer with only the most random thoughts. My task must be to tell that story that captures the chaos of my life.

Random thoughts, chaos

Presidential Election

Why do us democrats not realize after the Cheney, Rowe era that politics will be dragged to its lowest level? The price of the war: more than $ 3 trillion-- and McCain is attaching Barack over his patriotism because he opposes this disaster. When will learn that for those evil men winning is all that's important? We must change the leadership of this country away from a us/them viewpoint and learn to build a better America for our kids. A Hippie seeking enlightenment

Quoting from text: Wherever You Go There You Are, by Jon Kabat-Zinn;
We tend to see things through tinted glasses: through the lens of whether something is good for me or bad for me, or whether or not it conforms to my beliefs or philosophy. If it is good, I like it. If it is bad, I don't like it. If it is neither, I have no feelings about it one way or the other, and may hardly notice it at all.

So how do we become non-judging about what is happening around us in our lives?? It seems that we too often have unrealistic expectation for daily interaction and we let us tinted lens block out the ray of hope that we seek.

Spirit of Mindfulness

The spirit of mindfulness practice was nicely captured in a poster of a yogi,in his flowing robe atop a surfboard riding his board off a Hawaiian beach: " You can' stop the waves, but you can learn to surf".

Trying to find my muse or guru, etc?

Help, I feel like my world is full of chaos. I think Photo Booth is great fun. Should I try and be more serious about my postings or just keep posting my ramblings. Watching Colbert Report and his humor is such fun. I also have an account on LiveJournal, but like Blogger's format better. Wow, this is not communicating anything interesting, but maybe this can be like James Joyce . I can be using my flow of consciousness.

Film about Wavy Gravy

Discovered a film about Wavy Gravy titled Saint Misbehavin. Wavy Gravy was described by Ram Dass as someone keeps the 60's dream alive in social actions that reflect his deep love of the earth and its inhabitants. This wise clown of compassion is a genuine Mahatma of the Cosmic Giggle. See info @rippleeffectsfilms.com
